Steve and Holley Getaway

Holley and Steve
Weather was nice but a little chilly! Had a chance to split some of the hostas by the road and give the front hill a bit of a “please don’t tumble down me” barrier 🙂 Steve popped down to JR Dill to grab a case of wine for a friend of ours but other than that, we stayed and enjoyed the lake.

Holley, Steve, Lia, Adrien, Steve’s sister and nephew, and a friend of Lia’s
Had a great week! A couple days of rain at the beginning, but went swimming in the rain anyway 🙂 we rented the pontoon boat from a lady on Lamoka as we have for the past few years and it was lovely. Fourth of July was fun and Steve put on a lovely fireworks display to compliment the many others going on around the lake. Went up to Arrowhead and down to Watkins for dinner a few times.
Steve’s sister and nephew from Houston flew in to Rochester so it was fun to show them around all our favorite places and share the lake experience with them. Went up to Bully Hill of course 🙂
Additions this week are a new shoe rack and Christmas lights for the middle room and new cinder blocks for the fire pit.

After a full week at the cottage with the whole family together there is so much to talk about! We laughed so hard it resulted in tears, had conversations with those we don’t see every day, ate more food than one ever needs to eat, and made memories that will last a lifetime! We celebrated Chloe and Bruce’s birthdays, had many friends visit, played new games, tubed with the kids, swam in the middle of lake, played on the jet ski, and had a few campfires. Tabitha, Jarrid and Tammy took all their out of state family members to the NYS fair. Bob, Deb and Noah came up to visit for a couple days. Becky and Tammy deep cleaned the bathroom and replaced the rugs. It smells much better! Tab planted a couple mint plants by the old shed. And a small tree fell on the new shed, Bruce and Joe removed it- no damage at all. Bruce talked to Paul and let him know there were a few other dead trees in that area and Paul will be stopping over to check them all out. All in all we had a fabulous week… the weather was good overall, company was great, the boat and jet ski ran the whole time, and views of the lake and stars are always a fan favorite! A perfect way to end the summer before school starts back up!

Steve & Holley Fall Getaway
2021-10-09
Steve, Holley
We came up for a little fall getaway for Steve’s birthday. Both of us worked remotely on Thursday and Friday for a little, then had a great time hitting our favorite places in Watkins and up the east side of Seneca. Warm and sunny both of those days. Popped over to Bully Hill to stock up for the winter on Saturday and enjoyed a chilly but nice outside meal at Timber Stone Grill in Hammondsport. Holley emptied out the watershoe bin and dried out the shoes, drilled a couple holes in the bottom for drainage for next year (some of those bottom shoes were quite slimy!) Steve mowed the lawn. We put most of the outside plastic chairs in the shed for the winter.

Butler weekend
2021-09-25
Bridget, Brad, Roman, Ravien
Quick trip to bring Dad’s boat home. Arrived late Friday after school (kids were still in the uniforms).
Nice slow morning Saturday, Brad mowed the lawn Ravien and I did some fishing. Ravien got one of the big lures stuck so after a long time trying I ended up getting in the lake up to my armpits! Now is a good time for a special thank you for everyone who takes out the doc and float! Man was that cold, A little bit of forced hydrotherapy! Lol!
Brad and Roman played afternoon golf while Ravien and I headed over to Corries Lodge for the afternoon. Nice dinner out and packed up Sunday.
Bye bye cottage, bye bye lake, see you next year!

Took the dock out and everything else except boat lift. Just too much for the Two of them. Brought my umbrella up for picnic table since I got a new one and this one works great. Bruce and becky said they will get lift out.

Had a great week! Overlapped the Masts at the beginning of the week. Brad and Roman played lots of golf, yard sales and antiquing abounded. Holley’s jet ski was a bit temperamental this year, time for some maintenance! Steve and Holley replaced the squeaky bed in the lake-side room. Steve and Brad built a banister for the stairs. We had a couple rainy days, but not too bad. Noah stayed for a few days at the beginning of the week and did a lot of boat driving for the kids. This year, Brad rented a pontoon boat from a lovely lady on Lamoka, it was a hit! So great to take the kids out and swim!

The book is DIGITAL!
2021-07-31
Holley
The book is now digital! I’ve taken photos of both books and have uploaded the first book so far (so back to 2010). I have pictures of each page of the first book as well and I will be working on getting those up. Some of those pages are hard to read so I wanted to get this great tradition someplace that the mice can’t chew 🙂
